Waste Not Want Not: Our Favourite Waste Reducing Products

Eco-friendly branded merchandise for a positive brand impact

It’s Zero Waste Week this week, and in the spirit of the season, we’ve been looking at ways to reduce the impact of business waste. In our last post we highlighted our top tips for waste reduction, a series of small changes any business can make.

This time out, we’re celebrating some of our favourite products, innovative items that have been created with thought to make something special out of components that might otherwise have ended up in landfill or worse.

Here’s a selection of the best waste diverting products available right now…

Stonebook

stonebook recycled stone waste notebook

Our notebooks have seen more than their fair share of coffee rings or tea spills, so waterproof paper sounds like a no-brainer to us. But the Stonebook doesn’t contain paper quite as we know it.

The clue is in the name – the paper in this notebook is made from 80% stone waste powder which is bound together using HDPE resin, resulting in a recyclable alternative to paper, produced without trees, water, bleach, or toxins.

Recycled Leather Keyring

Made in the UK for a reduced carbon footprint, this E Leather keyring is created using leather offcuts and waste, forced to bond using water pressure, rather than chemicals. This creates a more sustainable leather product, with a soft, waxy feel. Available in a range of colours, this keyring can be embossed, foiled or full-colour printed, for a fantastic personalised gift.

Neutral® clothing

Making use of fabric that wasn’t quite up to scratch for garments, Neutral® save on needless waste by reusing these scraps to make hang tags. This removes the need for additional paper or card tags, and means that everything down to the tag is made of Fairtrade, GOTS certified 100% organic cotton.

Coffee Pen

Thanks to its rich flavour and energy boosting caffeine content, coffee has become one of the most popular products in the world. Our insatiable thirst for the stuff sees over 170m 60kg bags produced worldwide to get us through the daily grind, but that equals a whole lot of waste grounds.

With the Coffee Pen we can rewrite the story of coffee waste through the reuse of waste coffee grounds. Made using 40% coffee grounds, combined with ABS, it even smells like coffee!

Sea Socks

Made in conjunction with Healthy Seas, a charity that collects lost and abandoned fishing equipment to ensure the valuable resources don’t pollute the oceans, these socks are made from recycled fishing nets. Spun into high-quality ECONYL® yarn, which is then paired with 100% certified organic cotton, these nets have found a new life as comfortable and stylish socks that are better for nature, the farmer, and our feet.

Americano Insulated Tumbler

Hidden behind a sleek and subtle exterior, this 350mm tumbler has some fantastic features. A double walled construction will keep hot drinks hot for hours, while its twist-on lid means there’s no need to worry about accidents.

Both body and lid are made of 100% recycled materials, polypropylene to be exact, and the tumbler is made in the UK, keeping mileage to a minimum. To top things off, the Americano comes packaged in a home-compostable bag.

These are just a few of the clever products we carry, and we’re closely watching as ever more creative ways are devised to give waste a new lease of life as we inch ever-closer towards a zero-waste society.
