We’re proud to be a certified B Corporation
Been living under a rock? Here’s what it means to be a B Corp
The B Corp badge signifies that we’re part of a global network of organisations committed to using business as a force for good. There are currently over 6,000 Certified B Corporations in more than 80 countries and over 150 industries, all of them committed to doing business in the right way.
We received our B Corp certification in April 2022, an incredible milestone that capped off many months of hard work. To be accepted into the community, we underwent a stringent Impact Assessment that confirms that we meet their high standards of performance, accountability, and transparency.
To make the cut, all areas of our business came under the microscope. The assessment measures social and environmental impact in five key areas – Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.
Profit, People and Planet… On Equal Terms
Being a B Corp means re-writing the metrics of success in business. Rather than focusing on the finances alone, we consider contributions to environmental health, social well-being, and a just economy to be of equal merit.
As a matter of fact, we’ve built this into our company’s legal structure, committing to consider our impact on our stakeholders, both now and in the future. This makes us a Triple Bottom Line business.
A score of 80 points or above is required on the Impact Assessment to achieve B Corp certification, with the average ‘ordinary’ business scoring 50.9 points. We’re proud to exceed this high standard but the work doesn’t stop there… B Corps recertify every three years, so achieving our certification is just the start of our story of continual improvement.
