Background
Inspired Villages approached us looking to update their merchandise offering across two key customer audiences following a brand refresh and new website.
The first audience was made up of prospective buyers who had already had multiple conversations and visits about the villages and were very likely to become residents, but hadn’t started the contractual process yet. For this group of new residents entering their next chapter, the gifting experience needed to feel premium and celebratory, reflecting a significant life milestone.
The second audience included potential customers who were at a much earlier stage in their buying journey and considering a purchase, as well as event attendees. For this group, the focus was on practical, useful items that would create a positive brand experience during the decision-making process.
While the audiences were different, the objective remained the same: create thoughtful merchandise that feels considered, high quality, and genuinely useful.
The Challenge
The challenge was creating two distinct pack experiences for two very different stages of the customer journey.
Inspired Villages needed:
- Premium gifting for new residents
- Practical merchandise for prospective customers
- Product choices tailored specifically to the over-65 demographic
- A simple fulfilment process that reduced internal admin
- Distribution across multiple village locations
The marketing team also wanted to avoid receiving, sorting, and redistributing merchandise internally.
Pack One: Prospective Buyer Packs
For the people that have had multiple conversations about and visits to the villages – who are believed to very likely become buyers, but haven’t started the contractual process yet – the gifting experience needed to feel elevated.
The final pack included premium lifestyle products designed to feel useful and thoughtful.
These included:

- Premium Cranbrook tote
- Mahua Insulated Flask
- Playing card set
- Magna Pod list pad
The products were chose to feel practical for day-to-day use while still delivering a premium gifting experience that matched the significance of moving into a new home.
Pack Two: Event Merchandise & Early-Stage Conversations
For potential customers considering a purchase, the objective shifted slightly.
The merchandise needed to create a positive touchpoint while remaining practical, accessible, and useful during the consideration phase.
These included:
These products were selected to create a positive brand experience while providing genuinely useful everyday items.
Managing Fulfilment Across Multiple Locations
To simplify the process for the Inspired Villages team, all products were delivered directly to our warehouse. From there, we collated orders and organised deliveries by village location.
This meant head office did not need to receive stock, split deliveries, or manage internal redistribution. Instead, every village received exactly what it needed, ready to use immediately.
Removing that operational burden allowed the team to focus entirely on the customer experience.
The Impact
The refreshed merchandise strategy helped Inspired Villages better support customers at two important stages of their journey.
- Premium gifting created a stronger experience for prospective buyers
- Practical products helped create positive brand touchpoints for all potential customers
- Product selection was carefully tailored to each audience
- Head office avoided the complexity of managing fulfilment internally
- Deliveries were organised and distributed directly by village location
The result was a more thoughtful merchandise programme built around customer experience rather than simply distributing branded products.
