“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
The drive towards a more sustainable merchandise industry requires a collective effort. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that we’re supporting A Good Thing, a platform that connects businesses with charities in need. Together, we’re working to reduce waste, support worthy causes, and make a positive impact on the planet.
About A Good Thing
A Good Thing is a not-for-profit organisation on a mission to connect businesses with surplus resources to charities that can put them to good use. Recognising that businesses often have unwanted items cluttering up storage space, while charities are constantly in need of resources to support their vital work, they’ve devised a platform that facilitates donations, ensuring that valuable items are given a second life and charities receive the support they need.
Why We’re Doing A Good Thing
This partnership aligns perfectly with our longstanding commitment to sustainability. We’re a company that believes in merch done right, and that includes taking responsibility for the environmental impact of our products and operations.
We’ve not strayed from our commitment to only the most sustainable merch, and have taken other steps to reduce our impact, such as the introduction of end-of-life instructions for 80% of our collection, and replacing or removing single use plastic packaging wherever possible.
Our business of helping brands display themselves in the best light does, however, present rare occasions where a product or its branding falls short of expectation. On these occasions, customer service takes precedent, which could mean replacing some or all items.
Historically, companies may have consigned offending items to landfill, but our relationship with A Good Thing means those days are firmly in the past.
A Win-Win Partnership
This collaboration offers a win-win situation for both parties. By donating our surplus items, we will reduce waste to landfill by rehoming perfectly functional products and office equipment that are surplus to our requirements, which is great for the environment.
It also means A Good Thing can distribute more to charities, supporting their vital work and empowering them to better serve their communities, while saving money that would otherwise be spent on purchasing similar items.
Making a Real Difference
We’ve already begun our partnership with A Good Thing by donating 154 stainless steel travel mugs! These mugs, with the full backing of our client, have been distributed to three fantastic charities, making a real difference in their communities:
- Homestart Aberdeen (homestartaberdeen.org.uk): Received 120 mugs to support families in need.
- Mungo’s (MUNGOS.ORG): Received 24 mugs to help homeless individuals stay warm on the go.
- Merlin Centre (merlincentre.org.uk): Received 48 mugs for their staff and volunteers working with people with disabilities.
This is just the beginning! We’re excited to see the positive impact this partnership will have in the future, watch this space for updates!
