Background
OV recently refurbished its brand and wanted merchandise to help bring the new identity to life internally.
The brief went beyond simply producing apparel. The aim was to create something more contemporary, versatile and genuinely wearable across the wider team, while still feeling aligned with the refreshed brand direction.
Around 50 staff members would receive merchandise, so flexibility and choice were key.
The Challenge
Launching merchandise alongside a brand refresh carries extra pressure.
Colours need to align with the new identity. Apparel needs to feel contemporary. And the experience should feel considered rather than just another company hoodie.
The OV team also wanted to give employees choice, while keeping the process simple to manage internally.
The Solution: A Choice-Led Gifting Hub
We created a portal where recipients could select their preferred merchandise option.
Employees could choose between:
- A bundle of two t-shirts and a hoodie
- A Sherpa jacket as an alternative premium option
Each garment was available in a selection of colours that had been carefully approved to align closely with the new OV brand palette.
The portal allowed individuals to choose their preferred size and colour combination, creating a more personal experience while keeping the range curated.

The Merchandise
The collection focused on modern, wearable garments from trusted apparel brands.

Stanley/Stella Archer Hoodie
A premium hoodie known for its quality, fit and sustainability credentials.
SOL’S Crusader T-Shirt
A comfortable organic cotton tee designed for everyday wear.

Stanley/Stella Brooker Sherpa Jacket
A standout piece offering warmth and a more distinctive apparel option.
Each item was chosen to reflect the new OV brand and create merchandise people would genuinely want to wear.
Managing the Rollout
Once all selections were collated and approved, we finalised production and coordinated delivery.
All merchandise was split between OV’s office in the Isle of Man and the office in Manchester, where the teams handled internal distribution to staff.
To make this process easier, each item was bagged and labelled with the recipient’s size. This meant the OV team could quickly distribute the garments without needing to sort through individual orders.
The rollout followed the official brand launch, which took place in March during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
By timing the merchandise delivery after the public reveal, the internal experience aligned neatly with the wider brand moment.
The Impact
The merchandise helped reinforce the new brand internally.
- Staff could choose items that suited their style
- Apparel felt modern and inclusive rather than generic
- Colours aligned closely with the refreshed identity
- Distribution was simple and organised
The result was merchandise that supported the brand launch while still feeling personal to the team receiving it.
The Takeaway
When merchandise is tied to a brand refresh, it needs to feel authentic.
By giving employees choice and focusing on modern apparel, OV created a launch moment that extended beyond the event itself and into everyday wear.
