Levelling up a long-standing employee pack with a sustainable set of promotional gifts in an eye-catching new design to welcome new starters.
Utilising GBG’s brand assets to maximum effect in a corporate gift pack for international distribution, while hitting the mark sustainability.
A real showstopper of a welcome pack, containing vibrant and sustainable products sure to impress incoming employees.
About the Project
GBG are global specialists in digital identity, offering customer onboarding solutions to reduce the risk of fraud for many of the world’s leading organisations. A long-standing Project Merchandise client, we had already delivered on a range of briefs for their brands.
As the extent of our relationship grew, the opportunity arose to work on GBG’s employee welcome packs. And while some of our previous projects had been relatively uncomplicated, this one represented an exciting step up.
After viewing the previous pack, we took on the task of creating a considered pack of high impact items. Our key criteria was for branding options that would deliver a lasting impression for new starters, consistent across international offices.
With access to the company’s full suite of assets, we were able to dream up some sensational merch options that brought their vibrant brand creative to the fore, using full colour print to its full effect.
A Welcome Pack to Remember
Perhaps our pick of the products is a recycled all-over-print notebook. Filled with recycled paper, we were able to replicate GBG’s mural artwork above in vivid colour. And because of the bespoke nature, this was possible across the full surface of its cover – front and back. Tipping the notebook over the top, front and back tip-in pages reinforced the branding by replicating the mural print within.
Also chosen for its large print area, the insulated Solid Colour bottle offered a 360-degree print, a great canvas to repeat this print. And with its double wall stainless steel construction, it’s reusable and sturdy enough for international travel.
Another contender for our favourite item is this pair of eco-friendly organic socks. Woven in the EU and transported by road for a reduced impact, this was the perfect brief to make the most of the 100+ available thread colours.
Having requested a tote as part of their pack, we were keen to find a statement option. Without going down the bespoke route, totes are usually only available with a print no larger than an A4 sheet. After working closely with one of our trusted suppliers, we were able to eclipse that limitation, doubling the print area.
Pens represented a bit more of a challenge, where print was concerned. Though we could have printed a wrapped design, we achieved a similar impact with pens in their brand colours. And we managed to match not one, but three, splitting our recycled Innovation Extra pen between three brand colours.
A welcome card was included in each pack, along with 7 kiss-cut paper stickers for starters to have fun with. After packing one of our favourite projects to date into natural kraft boxes, we certainly felt like part of the fun.
“We have worked with Project Merchandise on a few projects and when the time came to redesign our new starter onboarding packs, they were the obvious choice. From recommending products, selecting the right processes, and even handling the storage and distribution. We couldn’t be happier with the high-quality finish on all the items, and we’ve had great feedback from all our new starters.”GBG
